Team owners voted Tuesday for the 49ers' new stadium as host of the 2016 game. That facility in Santa Clara, Calif., is due to open for the 2014 season.

San Francisco beat out South Florida, which was stymied in its bid to stage an 11th Super?Bowl when the Florida Legislature did not support financing to renovate Sun Life Stadium.

"After losing a Super?Bowl (to Baltimore), it feels really good to win a Super?Bowl," 49ers CEO Jed York cracked.

Houston, which also beat out Miami, was awarded the 2017 title game. It has hosted once before, in 2004.

The only previous Super?Bowl played in northern California was at Stanford Stadium in 1985.

When NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell announced the 2016 decision, members of the San Francisco bid committee let out a roar of approval, then toasted each other with champagne.

"We are so excited to be able to be able to put on the 'Golden Super?Bowl' in the Golden State," York said.

Asked what he believed swayed the owners to vote for San Francisco, York added: "It's the will power of an entire area that gave an overwhelming push for us."

It was the first time in a decade that a Super?Bowl was awarded on the first ballot.

"The Bay Area has been waiting for a (title) game since 1985. We have a stadium now ... we are just thrilled and couldn't be happier about this," said Daniel Lurie, a leader of the San Francisco bid.

"We are going to get to highlight the best the Bay Area has to offer."

The Dolphins were denied public money for a stadium upgrade in South Florida following widespread complaints about the public investment sunk into the Marlins' new baseball home.

Multibillionaire Dolphins owner Stephen Ross contends $350 million in stadium improvements are badly needed, but he doesn't want to pay for them by himself. Nor does he want a scaled-down renovation of the 26-year-old facility.

Miami has hosted 10 Super?Bowls, tied with New Orleans for the most. But neither will get the 50th.

York suggested that San Francisco's winning bid offered a lesson in politics.

"If this Super?Bowl can show the state of California and other communities the opportunity with a new stadium to bring in fresh business, it could be a catalyst that stadiums can be built for Oakland and San Diego, which are in need of new ones," he said. "This may be the impetus to get one of those done."

For years, it was thought the NFL would seek to stage the 50th Super?Bowl in Los Angeles, where the first one was played (but did not sell out) on Jan. 15, 1967. But with no franchise in LA and no suitable stadium projects approved, that hope disappeared.

Next Feb. 2, the game goes outdoors in a cold-weather site for the first time, at MetLife Stadium in the New Jersey Meadowlands. If that gamble pays off for the NFL, look for other cities in similar climates ? Washington, Baltimore, Philadelphia, Chicago, Denver ? to bid for future Super?Bowls.

The 2015 game will be played in the Phoenix area.

Earlier Tuesday, owners approved a $200 million loan for stadium construction in Atlanta. The multipurpose stadium could cost as much as $1 billion, with team owner Arthur Blank committed to funding most of it. Blank, speaking at the NFL's spring meetings, called the decision by the team owners an "important milestone" in moving the project forward.

'Britain's Obama' urges ties with West Africa

ACCRA, Ghana (AP) ? A British lawmaker widely viewed as a rising star in the Labour Party says the United Kingdom should more aggressively forge ties with West Africa's growing economies.

While leading a trade mission to Nigeria and Ghana this week, 34-year-old Chuka Umunna said it is important to counter the perception that the U.K. is a complacent partner with its former colonies.

Umunna has been branded the "British Barack Obama" by some media outlets, but he dismissed the comparison as shallow and made merely because both men are black.

Though he declined to be specific when discussing his own political ambitions, the shadow business secretary said he was eager to help bring the Labour Party back to power in the 2015 elections.

Mental Health: What is Parkinson's Disease?

Parkinson's disease (PD) is a brain disorder that causes a gradual loss of muscle control. Symptoms of Parkinson's disease tend to be mild initially and can sometimes go unnoticed. Typical signs include tremors, stiffness, slowed body movements, and poor balance. Parkinson's was originally called a "shaking palsy" but not everyone with Parkinson's has a tremor.

The father of Parkinson's disease, James Parkinson defined Parkinson disease in his most notable medical publication in 1817, An Essay on the Shaking Palsy. It says, ?Involuntary tremulous motion, with lessened muscular power, in part not in action and even when supported; with a propensity to bend the trunk forward, and to pass from a walking to a running pace: the senses and intellect being uninjured.?

Progression of the Parkinson's disease
While Parkinson's can be a frightening diagnosis, life expectancy does not change particularly with better care and prompt treatment. Symptoms of the disease progress slowly over 10 to 20 years but an early treatment can allow patients to live a normal life and maintain their job. Worldwide 7 million to 10 million people suffer from Parkinson's disease. We see young patients with PD in India as compared to the west.

Early Signs of this Parkinson's disease
It may be subtle and can be confused with other conditions. They include:

??? ?Tremor - It is an early symptom and is seen in about 70 per cent of patients. Usually occurs in a finger or hand when the hand is at rest, when patient is walking or watching TV, but not when the hand is in use. Hands and fingers shake as if rolling a pill between the thumb and index finger, mild shaking of a finger, hand, leg, or lip.

??? ?Bradykinesia - Bradykinesia in PD patients mean slow movement which impairs daily activities. They tend to take small steps. They may suddenly stop particularly near doors or in crowded places. Their body does not respond to commands right away. The PD patients blink less and have mask like face and have a soft voice or slurred speech frozen shoulder.

Early Signs of this Parkinson's disease

?

??? ?Impaired Balance - These patients have difficulty in turning swiftly. They tend to develop a stooped posture, with drooping shoulders and their head jutted forward. They may have a problem with balance. This increases the risk of falling. They tend to run in small steps forward stiffness or difficulty walking.

??? ?Rigidity - Rigidity means stiff muscles which don't relax. It is difficult to move patients arms and legs passively, there is some resistance. Due to rigidity the arms may not swing when a person is walking. There may be cramping or pain in the muscles

??? ?Non motor symptoms ? PD patients will occasionally suffer from night terrors, restless sleep, daytime fatigue, constipation, increase tendency to pass urine particularly in night, difficulty swallowing, memory problems, confusion, or dementia, oily skin and dandruff.

Various strategies in treatment of Parkinson's disease
Multidisciplinary approach, medical surgery, physiotherapy, occupational therapy to modify home, support group to increase awareness, speech therapy.

Can we prevent Parkinson's disease?
Various researchers have been trying to prevent PD or halt progression of disease, but it is too soon to tell whether this works. Coffee drinkers and smokers may have a lower risk of developing Parkinson's (although smoking obviously has other serious health consequences).

Parkinson's disease and Exercise???
Exercise may actually have a protective effect by enabling the brain to use dopamine more effectively. It also helps improve motor coordination, balance, gait, and tremor. It releases nerve growth factor which may play key role in PD brains. Working out on a treadmill or biking have been shown to have a benefit. Tai chi and yoga may help with balance and flexibility.
